Invented places go wrong the same way. World building treats one decision as generative: a drought leads to migration, migration leads to a border dispute, and each consequence is a place a scene can happen. It also carries an exposition budget, so nobody gets the whole atlas at once. Canon accumulates whether you track it or not, which is the job of Story bible. Every entry carries a status saying whether it is settled or still provisional, next to a log of the contradictions you have found and not yet resolved.
